2015 Inductee to the Montana Cowboy Hall of Fame!

Welcome everyone to the 34th Annual Montana Cowboy Poetry Gathering and Western Music Rendezvous, a signature event held every August in Lewistown, Montana.  We’re glad you’re here! Montana Cowboy Poetry Gathering is the 2nd oldest cowboy poetry gathering in the country, just one year behind the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nevada!  The mission of Montana Cowboy Poetry Gathering is:  “…to preserve and celebrate the history, heritage and values of the American cowboy in the upper Rocky Mountain west.”  Online ticket sales for this one-of-a-kind show are now open.

bellamy1The Montana Cowboy Poetry Board is proud to announce our 2019 headlining performer, the award-winning Bellamy Brothers.  From pop to country, the Bellamy Brothers are bringing their iconic music to Lewistown in August of 2019.

Known for their 1976 smash hit "Let Your Love Flow", the song became an instant smash on both the U.S. and European pop charts, remaining on the both charts long enough to establish a solid fan base that endures to this day. The Bellamy Brothers traveled the world during the mid-70's, jamming for audiences at their sold-out concerts and shared stages with the likes of the Doobie Brothers, Loggins & Messina, and the Beach Boys.

True to their rock/country roots, their songwriting and singing style began moving steadily towards the musical style they had grown up with. By the late ‘70’s the brothers, Howard and David, saw their first smash country song. “If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me),” sent them to the top of the country charts.

Success followed success with twenty number one hits. Hit songs included “Dancing Cowboys,” “Sugar Daddy,” “You Ain’t Just Whistlin’ Dixie,” and “Lovers Live Longer,” most of which reached platinum or gold status as the brothers became country music legends. The Bellamy Brothers hold the record in both the Academy of Country Music (ACM) and the Country Music Association Awards (CMA) for the most duo nominations. Numerous Grammy nominations have also been directed toward the brothers.

Today, the Bellamy Brothers, continue to perform around the country, bringing their unique style and ever-popular music to fans of all ages. Their latest project is their new album titled '40 Years' and is an ambitious endeavor that celebrates their career with 20 of their biggest hits and then adds 20 brand new songs to the two-cd anniversary collection.

We look forward to seeing you in Lewistown, and thank you for joining all of us for this joyous time of listening, humming along, honoring those who came before us and taking inspiration from them into our daily lives!  We hope you enjoy every minute of your “Keepin’ It Cowboy,” Montana Cowboy Poetry Gathering experience.
